Cartier Williams
Cartier Williams is a tap dancer, choreographer, filmmaker, and performer from Washington, D.C., who began dancing at the age of four. Trained initially by his grandmother, Audrey Williams, he quickly emerged as a prodigious talent, becoming one of the youngest performers recognized as an Apollo Legend after winning Apollo Kids at the Apollo Theater.
As a child, Williams performed alongside tap legends including Buster Brown, Jimmy Slyde, Gregory Hines, and the Nicholas Brothers. His career has included appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Tonight Show, Good Morning America, and performances for two U.S. Presidents. Williams toured internationally with the Tony Award-winning production Bring in ’da Noise, Bring in ’da Funk, and has appeared at prestigious venues including New York City Center, The Joyce Theater, and the Kennedy Center. Beyond dance, he is an accomplished filmmaker, writer, and producer whose projects include Phone Bait, The Violinist, and My Love Awaits.
His career continues to reflect a commitment to preserving and advancing the art of tap dance through performance, education, and creative storytelling.
