Ruth Page Civic Ballet and Friends

Highlights this evening are two contemporary commissions—Abscission by Mexican choreographer/dancer Adrián Marcelo Sáenz, a multiple medalist of the Havana International Choreography Competition, and Steady Going by Kia Smith, the founder and artistic director of South Chicago Dance Theater. “Animated Frescoes” from the milestone classical ballet The Little Humpbacked Horse by Arthur Saint-Léon further builds this program’s expressive dynamic, along with the tap dance bravura of guest artist Jumaane Taylor, artistic director of the Chicago Human Rhythm Project.
