Concerts, Classes, & Community in Chicago
About Us
Our Mission

Chicago Human Rhythm Project (CHRP) presents rhythm-centric performances and education programs that foster social reconciliation and economic development.
Co-founded in 1988 by Lane Alexander and Kelly Ikaika Michaels, CHRP centers artists, companies and communities deeply connected to percussive dance. Even as one of the oldest forms of human expression, foot drumming continues to evolve as a living, relevant contemporary art form.
African, Native American, Indian, Mexican Folkloric, Spanish Flamenco, Irish Step and American tap dance can all be found in our concerts, classes and community building programs.
Your generous donation will help us enrich the lives of Chicagoans of all ages. Please consider a contribution today so we can continue making our joyous noise!
