Concerts, Classes, & Community in Chicago
About Us
Our Mission

Chicago Human Rhythm Project (CHRP) presents and organizes rhythm-centric performances, education programs and community development initiatives that foster great art, social reconciliation and economic justice.
Co-founded in 1988 by Lane Alexander and Kelly "Ikaika" Michaels, CHRP centers artists, companies and communities deeply connected to rhythm culture. Even as one of the oldest forms of human expression, foot and hand drumming continue to evolve as a living, relevant contemporary art forms.
African, Native American, Indian, Mexican Folkloric, Irish Step, American tap dance and Hip Hop can all be found in our concerts, classes and community building programs.
Your generous donation will help us enrich the lives of Chicagoans of all ages. Please consider a contribution today so we can continue making our joyous noise!
