Overview:

Head south for the winter . . . Southside that is! Come down to the Beverly Arts Center for our annual Winter Tap JAMboree!, a weekend of workshops, scholarship auditions, choreography competitions and performances. For the first time, the Winter Tap JAMboree! will be under the direction of tap star Tre Dumas, as CHRP continues to diversify artistic leadership. The 3-day extravaganza will feature some of the most innovative tap masters around:

• Guillem Alonso
• Gregg Russell
• Tre Dumas
• CHRP Founder Lane Alexander
• Jumaane Taylor
• and Lisa LaTouche

Events include:

• A 3-day Workshop
• The annual Leo Harris scholarship audition, where we give away $15,000 to study at the Rhythm World summer festival
• Tap OFF Choreography Competition
• JAMboree! Concert featuring the faculty and students

Always a showcase of Chicago-based tap and percussive arts talent, these concerts will feature some fresh new ensembles formed by several local masters. We'll also be adding a touch of international flair by featuring our 2008 Artist In Residence Guillem Alonso from Barcelona.
