Mark Yonally is currently the artistic director of Chicago Tap Theatre, one of the newest tap companies in Chicago. Mark is a noted educator of tap and has taught at reputable festivals, including Sole to Soul, the New Mexico Tap Festival, and the Maui Tap Extravaganza, as well as academic credits such as Oklahoma City University (where he was full time faculty) and Hope College (where he just completed a guest artist residency). He is sought after for his multidisciplinary approach to tap teaching, which includes elements of history, basic music theory and an emphasis on jazz music. Mark has taught in Paris, Nurnburg and Toulouse, among other European and American cities. He has performed at the Kansas City Blues and Jazz Festival as well as jazz clubs in Kansas City, Albuquerque, Amsterdam, and Chicago. With ETC he performed at such prestigious festivals as the Sr. Louis Tap Festival, and has worked with the internationally known Chicago Human Rhythm Project. His writing has also been published in Dance Spirit, Dance Teacher and Dance Magazines.
