Dear Chicago Not-for-Profit:
On Thanksgiving weekend, November 23-25, 2007, Chicago Human Rhythm Project will present a feast of rhythm, movement and music with TAO, a contemporary Japanese Wadaiko drumming company, at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance in Millennium Park. In conjunction with these concerts, CHRP presents a community-building/revenue-sharing program called THANKS 4 GIVING. Now in its third successful year, T4G offers 50% of ticket prices to other worthy charitable organizations throughout Chicago.
In other words, 50% of the gross ticket revenues generated by your organization's supporters will be donated directly to your organization! The process is simple: ticket buyers identify themselves as supporters of your organization when purchasing their tickets and the Harris Theater box office tracks these sales. And to encourage your supporters to participate, they will receive a 10% discount on their ticket when they mention your organization's name. Last year, more than $22,000 was raised by Chicago area non-profits between two nearly sold-out concerts. This year, we hope to double the amount raised with two additional concerts at the Harris Theater.
The goals of THANKS 4 GIVING are to fulfill Chicago Human Rhythm Project's mission of building community with rhythm, to support the important work of your organization and other worthy not-for-profits and to make CHRP's programs visible to a wider audience.
Your organization can use internet, word-of-mouth and other expedient methods of communication to support T4G at little or no expense. Moreover, CHRP will assist your efforts by providing event postcards and a "customizable" e-blast template that may be distributed to your supporters. There is no financial risk or commitment required; we only ask that you encourage your supporters to attend the event and identify themselves when purchasing tickets. This year's participants - who ALL participated last year as well - include Girl Scouts of Chicago, WTTW/WFMT, Bookworm Angels, Chicago Cares, Merit School of Music and many more valuable community-based organizations throughout Chicago.
We look forward to making this community-wide fundraising opportunity an established Chicago Thanksgiving tradition. Please contact Cameron Heinze or Jennifer Guglielmi at 773-281-1825 to add your organization's name to this year's THANKS 4 GIVING list of participants.
All the best,
Lane Alexander
