GLOBAL RHYTHMS is the first concert series in America dedicated to American tap and international contemporary percussive arts and exposes the leading edge of rhythmic expression.

This year, CHRP proudly presents Step Afrika! from Washington D.C. alongside Chicago dance and music institutions - Ensemble Espanol Spanish Dance Theater - the Mexican Folkloric Dance Company of Chicago and Grammy nominated Sones de Mexico!

Whether presenting Vata Tap from Brazil, TAO from Japan, Sheketak from Israel or Be the Groove from Chicago, Global Rhythms presents the pinnacle of contemporary percussive art.

WINTER TAP JAMBOREE focuses on YOUTH  -  the next generation of tap dancers. Watch them audition for $15,000 in scholarship awards, compete in a national choreography competition and strut their stuff on stage alongside world renowned faculty members from Broadway, film and the concert stage.

WINDY CITY RHYTHMS features Chicago’s very own tap community – from pros to aficionados - alongside special guests and respected elders. WCR is CHRP’s contribution to National Tap Dance Day events held around the world commemorating Bill “Bojangles” Robinson’s birthday and celebrating the African and Irish roots of American tap.

RHTYHM WORLD is the oldest and most comprehensive festival of American tap and contemporary percussive arts in the world. RHYTHM WORLD hosts free public performances at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park, free tap jams at the Chicago Cultural Center’s Claudia Cassidy Theater, student showcases, panel discussions, the Cutting Contest and Tap Slams at Roosevelt University’s Ganz Hall, and extraordinary faculty concerts at the Museum of Contemporary Art.
