Institute for the Rhythmic Arts (IFTRA)

American Rhythm Center

IFTRA offers a first of its kind experience for emerging young professionals - a three week intensive integrating foot, hand, and body percussion led by STOMP alumni, tap dancer extraordinaire, and master percussionists Nicholas Young, John Angeles, and Doug Feig - with additional guest artists throughout the three week program.  Ages 16 - 24, Adv/Pro.

Winter Tap JAMboree 2015

February 12-15, 2015

focuses on YOUTH  -  the next generation of tap dancers. Watch them audition for $10,000 in scholarship awards, compete in a national choreography competition and strut their stuff on stage alongside world renowned faculty members from Broadway, film and the concert stage.

Rhythm World 2015

Every Summer

July 6-August 2

 is America's longest running and most comprehensive festival of American tap and contemporary percussive arts. Rhythm World hosts an opening night concert at Chicago's historic Jazz Showcase, three
concerts at the Museum of Contemporary Art/Chicago, tap jams, student showcases and a vast array of masterclasses, workshops, courses, and residencies with world-renowned performers and teachers.

Whether presenting Vata Tap from Brazil, TAO from Japan, Sheketak from Israel, Step Afrika! from Washington, DC, or Be the Groove from Chicago, Global Rhythms presents the pinnacle of contemporary percussive art.
