![]() Yuji UragamiSuji Tap began his dance training at the age of 16 under the direction of his soul dance teacher?Obara Tomohiro. After joining Kumamoto dance group?DEE-LITE?for a while, he moved to Tokyo at the age of 19. He has participated in numerous dance programs and contests in Tokyo. While being a member of renowned Hip hop/Future Jazzy dance group?STAXGROOVE?and house/freestyle dance crew?SYMBOL- ISM?, he began to develop his passion for tap dance in Higuchi Dance Studio at the age of 24, learning from the tap dancer, HIDEBOH. From 2001 till 2005, He had joined THE STRiPES, a rhythm entertaining group led by HIDEBOH and performed in various tap dance shows at home and abroad. Since then, he shifted his focus solely on tap dance. In order to delve into individual expression, Suji Tap became a soloist from 2006. He has extensively staged tap shows in live houses and theaters. Tap dance Workshops were also conducted nationwide in Japan. In September 2011, Suji Tap decided to start fresh again by using his real name, Uragami Yuji. He keeps challenging himself and aspires to peruse the infinite possibility of tap dance. Most importantly, his mission is to popularize tap dance. |
